System Administrator with DevOps potential
This role is primarily focused on system administration. It is an excellent opportunity for someone eager to grow into a DevOps career. You’ll be joining a talented and professional IT team that builds fintech products in the payments industry, very strong software developers, DevOps and QAs.
Responsibilities and expectations:
We are looking for a System Administrator who will help us organize our day to day IT requirements. The expectations for the System Administration part of the role are to:
- Help manage users, applications, IT assets, etc.;
- Assist our colleagues with all IT related tasks;
- Setup work stations, accounts, access and permissions for new colleagues and help with the current ones;
- Facilitate 1Password, MS Defender, MDM, Intune and EntraID administration;
- Linux administration, Ansible roles, VPN access setup (Optional, depending on the candidate)
The position is hybrid between Sys admin and DevOps, which means that long term this is a perfect opportunity to develop the DevOps skills. Ideally you will be able to help with basic DevOps tasks. You will help with adjustments to DevOps pipelines, help with projects like migration of services form Azure to GCP, updating terraform scripts, Ansible roles, etc. You need to have strong networking experience and skills and strong Linux administration background.
It is great plus, but not required, if you have any experience with the following:
- Cloud systems - MS Azure, AWS or GCP;
- Kubernetes clusters;
- CI/CD pipelines and automation with Terraform;
- Scripting skills using Bash, Python, or other languages;
- Monitoring and alerting tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK stack;
- Database knowledge and skills - relational DBs (PostgreSQL and MS SQL) and NoSQL DBs;
- Understanding and managing the software lifecycle.
General requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree with focus on IT or related area or equivalent professional experience;
- Experience in the financial industry including proven experience in payments via digital wallets is a significant advantage;
- Results driven, with the ability to work toward goals in the face of adversity and obstacles;
- Great intellectual agility and attention to detail;
- Open to feedback, able to deal with ambiguity and work on multiple concurrent activities;
- Confident in working within a complex and evolving environment, to drive delivery of solutions;
- Demonstrable ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to resolve scheduling and other conflicts in order to meet all deadlines.
