We are looking for a professional with Underwriting experience and knowledge, as we would like to offer a long term engagement and career path.
Responsibilities
This person will have the following responsibilities:
Carry out due diligence of new clients and business partners during the on-boarding process in accordance with external and internal policies relating to anti-money-laundering regulations and the financing of terrorism acts.
Identification and verification of our potential clients, merchants and partners. Checks against sanction, PEP and other blacklists;
Perform risk assessment and monitors the Risk profile of the customers.
Recommend reserves for new customer applications;
Take appropriate action to prevent losses;
Conduct initial and periodic due diligence checks on customers;
Take part in developing and implementing underwriting policies and procedures activities;
Recommend improvements in underwriting processes and procedures;
Maintain accurate customer documentation;
Carry out standardized control measures as well as assisting with the preparation of regular reports;
Develop healthy partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance processes and minimize the company's risk;
Contact customers to facilitate customer onboarding and enters calls with applying merchants;
Ensure that all expected SLAs are met;
Ensure adherence to card scheme rules and regulations;
Participate in internal projects concerning product development and new markets;
Proactively assist in the development of existing systems and guidelines.
Requirements
Degree in the field of Finance or similar, or at least 2 years of professional experience in an underwriting role;
Experience and knowledge in payment and card industries;
Good understanding of AML, Risk and card scheme legal frameworks and policies;
Being familiar with the latest card schemes regulation frameworks;
Good communication skills in both verbal and written English;
Ability to learn new technology tools quickly;
Good analytical, planning and problem-solving skills;
Comfortable working independently, with a proactive mindset.
